Welcome Parents to the EC blog! Here you can find out information about what's going on in your child's classroom.

This week, we focused on our homes and different homes in the community. Here is a list of our hands on activities and projects!

-The children created shape houses by gluing rectangles, squares, triangles and circles to paper to make pictures of their home.

-Children worked on their fine motor skills by tracing different household items.

-The children enjoyed finding pictures in magazines that represented their bedroom, kitchen, dining room, and living room. They used these  pictures to make a book about their homes.

- The children had the opportunity to explore a piece of brick, tile, a door knob and a piece of gutter  closely with a magnifying glasses. We discussed where these items were located in our homes.

-The flannel board was used for a sorting activity. Children were asked to sort the flannel board pieces and place them into the appropriate rooms.

-The children also did a matching activity by matching keys together.

-We also read books about mobile homes and house boats and talked about how they are different from our own homes.
